ARACUS lite Amino Acid Analyzer

Small sample throughput and less eluent consumption

OVERVIEW

Amino Acid Analysis in a simplified configuration

  • The ARACUS „lite“ is a simplified configuration of the ARACUS „classic“ and designed for a reduced number of samples and smaller available budget.
  • Due to the small sample throughput and less eluent consumption the bottles of eluents are reduced in size and makes it possible to store the eluent bottles inside of the device and the rack .
  • For analysis of 1° amino acids with 570 nm, for 1° and 2° with 500 nm.
  • The system can be upgraded to a dual wavelength photometer with 440 and 570 nm by replacing the already installed photometer.

Flowchart

The chart shows the structure of the lite setup:

    • The ARACUS „lite“ is using the same pump configuration for operation of two fluidic lines (eluent side and reactive side) and suitable for High Speed and High Resolution columns.
    • The „lite“ comes just with one LED photometer depending on the application.
    • The system equipped with manual injection mode can be connect also with an autosampler like all our devices.

    Options: Autosamper Aracus

    Autosampler

The ARAUS lite can be upgraded later on with autosampler.

    Options: Purge valve Aracus

    Prime and purge valves

High pressure side prime and purge valves in eluent and reagent flow.

    Options: IQQ Documents Aquinity P10

    IQ/OQ/PQ documents

Validation documents IQ/OQ and PQ for ARACUS.

    Options: Software Aracus

Software 21 CFR Part 11 compliance

Manual and automatic peak integration with integrated IQ/OQ procedure for software (only available with software Clarity).

    Options: Inert gas Aracus

    Inert gas

It supplies the main unit and eluent box with a protective gas atmosphere by reducing the presence of atmospheric oxygen to enhance the signal to noise ratio.

    Options: Dual Photometer Aracus

    Dual wavelength photometer

The existing 500 or 570 nm photometer will be replaced by a photometer with 440 nm and 570 nm wavelength.

    FAQ

Chromatographic separation of amino acids is performed by ion-exchange chromatography, followed by post-column derivatization with ninhydrin (Stein & Moore) and photometric determination using LED.

Yes, this is possible as with all ARACUS systems running on manual injection.

The autsoampler includes 2x 48 sample vials, which have a capacity of 1.5 mL. For small sample volumes, inlets can be used for the sample vials to ensure proper sample collection.

All applications dealing with amino acid analysis can be covered. These include the analysis of food and feed, the analysis of clinical samples such as blood plasma, urine or spinal fluid as well as research questions.

The ARACUS lite uses only a single photometer with a wavelength of 500 nm instead of two photometers with wavelengths of 570 and 440 nm. As an option, we offer a dual photometer that covers both wavelengths. In addition, the system has smaller bottles for the eluents, which eliminates the eluent rack and makes the system even more compact.

The system is requested when there is a lower volume of samples.

If the system is operated with the Clarity software, this option is possible. Contact us.

The system has an alarm system with three different levels. At "yellow" the user is informed about a situation that is not critical, at "orange" a controlled shutdown of the system is performed and at "red" the system is secured against serious damage by emergency shutdown.

The system works with a pre-sequence, the analysis sequence and a post-sequence. When the measurement sequence is completed, the system goes into standby and runs a circulation to keep the system in an equilibrated state to be able to start a new measurement again as quickly as possible.

You can determine the heating profile of the column oven, the temperature of the reactor, the flow of the eluents, and the selection of the eluents yourself. Optimized programs are delivered with the system as standard.
