"Aracus has a local model (A300) in China. It has been 6 years since we first used this excellent instrument in our lab. It is very convenient for analyzing all kinds of hydrolyzed and free amino acids, easy to use as every process is fully automatic. Resolution and reproducibility are excellent compared to pharmacopoeia or official measurement documents. We mainly use the system to analyze feedstuff, food and health-care products, the results always have a high accuracy. It’s very user-friendly!"

"We have been using Aracus since 2014. Through this time we have analyzed different types of probes from rat saliva to new drugs with high resolution and reproducibility. During the exploitation period there was some problem with equipment. All problems have been solved by local after sale service and their German colleague."

"This analyzer is easy to use in terms of sample preparation, sample run as well as data analysis. The results are reproducible. However, we did run into several problems, such as SD card fault, pump fault, unstable pressure. The service team and engineer helped resolve the problems every time. In general I'm satisfied with their product and service. It would be better if there were local service support so that we do not have to go back and forth with Germany all the time."

"Sensitivity and reproducibility are sufficient for our work. The software is easy-to-use and intuitive and maintenance is also quite easy. Problems arose after improper preservation of the instrument, but a service engineer helped fix the problem. Sufficiently long-term sample preparation of meat and dairy products."

"From the point of view of the operator it is easy to use. Being an uncomplicated and user-friendly device, the equipment has sufficient precision and accuracy. Its other great virtue is durability and stable product quality. We have been using the equipment for almost five years, it is still running stably and is of great help in scientific research.".

Amino Acid Analysis for a wide range of applications

  • The setup of the ARACUS „classic“ is the standard configuration of the analyzer series.
  • The ARACUS „classic“ allows the continous analysis of 96 samples in a cooled autosampler.
  • Eluents and reagent solution are selectively chosen through valves and are ideally mixed to each other.
  • The addition of ninhydrin provides a quantitative analysis statement
  • A washing routine of the injection valve and syringe pump avoids cross contaminations.
  • The level of the individual reagents can be monitored during the runs and warns the user if the quantity is no longer sufficient.

Main technical specifications of the system

The chart shows the structure of the classic setup:

  • The pump allows the simultaneous operation of two fluidic lines (eluent side and reactive side), which guarantees a constant mixing.
  • The ARACUS “classic” has two photometers, 440 nm and 570 nm.
  • The system is equipped with an autosampler with 100 µL loop.

Chromatographic separation of amino acids is performed by ion-exchange chromatography, followed by post-column derivatization with ninhydrin (Stein & Moore) and photometric determination using LED.

The autosampler includes 2x 48 sample vials, which have a capacity of 1.5 mL. For small sample volumes, inlets can be used for the sample vials to ensure proper sample collection.

All applications dealing with amino acid analysis can be covered. These include the analysis of food and feed, the analysis of clinical samples such as blood plasma, urine or spinal fluid as well as research questions.

If the system is operated with the Clarity software, this option is possible. Contact us.

The system has an alarm system with three different levels. At "yellow" the user is informed about a situation that is not critical, at "orange" a controlled shutdown of the system is performed and at "red" the system is secured against serious damage by emergency shutdown.

The system works with a pre-sequence, the analysis sequence and a post-sequence. When the measurement sequence is completed, the system goes into standby and runs a circulation to keep the system in an equilibrated state to be able to start a new measurement again as quickly as possible.

You can determine the heating profile of the column oven, the temperature of the reactor, the flow of the eluents, and the selection of the eluents yourself. Optimized programs are delivered with the system as standard.
